KYLE TAYLOR – FREDERICK DOUGLASS
Mr. Taylor created the role of Frederick Douglass in both stage and film versions of Frederick Douglass, No Turning Back, by Chris Weatherhead. His performance was highly acclaimed, and the show was invited to the 33rd National Black Theatre Festival in Winston/Salem in 2022. Other live performances for Mr. Taylor have been in New York City and Los Angeles include A River Niger and Six Degrees of Separation at Center Stage in NYC, MYRON in Black & White in West Hollywood, California and Vicious Cycle, an all-black male adaptation of The Women by Claire Booth, plus numerous starring roles in Charleston, South Carolina including “Crown in Porgy and Bess at historic Dock Street Theatre, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in The Mountain Top at Pure Theatre, as well as Paul in 1963 and Crooks in Of Mice of Men at Threshold Theatre. Mr. Taylor holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Clarence Felder’s long career in the entertainment industry spans five decades as a lead actor in films, television and Broadway. His numerous roles include a two year run on ABC’s hit series Hooperman and films such as The Last Boy Scout, Ruthless People, After Hours, and others. Felder co-starred in ten productions on Broadway, performing with such stars as Christopher Walken, Glenn Close and Meryl Streep. His American theatre appearances include over 160 productions, including starring roles in most of Shakespeare’s plays. A prolific writer/ producer, Felder co-founded Actors Theater of South Carolina with his wife, Chris Weatherhead. Felder was commissioned to write a play about his sixth great-grandfather, Captain Felder’s Cannon, which became the basis for the film All for Liberty. The screenplay was adapted by his wife, Chris Weatherhead and Ron Mangravite.

Chris Weatherhead, co-founder with husband, Clarence Felder, wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in the award-winning feature film, All For Liberty and The Final Trials of Anne Hutchinson (in post-production) for Actors Theater of South Carolina (ATSC)’s Moving Images Group.
She also co-wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning films John Laurens’ War and Frederick Douglass: No Turning Back. A forty-year veteran in film, TV, New York, and regional theater in America, other credits can be seen on IMDB [Internet Movie Database].
Ms. Weatherhead’s film, All For Liberty, won nine international film awards and was named one of the Top Ten Revolutionary War Movies by the Journal of the American Revolution.
Off-Broadway, Chris starred in the major hit show, Table Settings for two years. She created the role of the evil mogul, Alicia Van Dine, for two years on ABC TV’s daytime series Edge of Night, among roles for other daytime and prime-time TV series, including Dallas, Our Family Honor, and Moonlighting.
Chris wrote and produced numerous films for a successful prison rehabilitation organization in California, and has directed/produced 94 productions for the Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina. Her novel, Against the Wind, The Rise of Kamehameha the Great, is based on her award-winning screenplay, Kumakani, and is available on Amazon.com. In 2023, Ms. Weatherhad was awarded the Martha Washington medal from the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution for outstanding service.
