Actors' Theater of South Carolina (ATSC) is a visionary non-profit 501(c)(3) professional film and theater company. Our unique approach includes training for actors, writers, and directors while focusing on English literature, unsung American Revolutionary War heroes, and other forgotten heroes of US History.
ATSC's film division, Moving Images Group, has achieved remarkable success, producing seven award-winning films and receiving 29 international film awards. Three standout films – "All For Liberty,"
"John Laurens War," and "Frederick Douglass: No Turning Back" – are widely distributed and have garnered global recognition.

This year, 2024, two new award-winning films – "In the Sea of Grace" and "Echoes of Glory: Heroes from the American Revolution" – will reach international audiences.

We have showcased many live productions at esteemed events such as the Piccolo Spoleto International Theatre Festival and the National Black Theatre Festival. From 2000 to 2004 we proudly sponsored a film festival in Charleston for emerging filmmakers.

ALL FOR LIBERTY - Docudrama In 1776, massive taxation and unpunished crimes pushed a South Carolina Swiss-German farmer to rebel against the British King. He and his family find out the cost of freedom.
JOHN LAURENS’ WAR - Docudrama John Laurens, born into a slave-owning family in South Carolina, fights to end slavery while fighting the British as a top aide to General George Washington. Eighty-three years later, the 13th Amendment was finally passed.
FREDERICK DOUGLASS: NO TURNING BACK In 1872, statesman and abolitionist Frederick Douglass delivers an electrifying sermon to an integrated church in Ohio, revealing, with great wisdom and wit, his epic journey from slave to cultural leader, newspaper editor, and author.
In New York City, Clarence co-starred in ten Broadway shows as well as New York’s Shakespeare in the Park and Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival, working with some of our greatest stars, writers and directors of film and theatre in the US, Canada, London US Virgin Islands and Bulgaria.
Mr. Felder co-starred in various major films and TV series in Hollywood, including ABC’s comedy cop series, Hooperman, for two years (w John Ritter), with Danny Devito and Bette Midler in the hit feature, Ruthless People, Bruce Willis in The Last Boy Scout, and Vanessa Redgrave in Playing for Time. In South Carolina, Mr. Felder is the Executive Producer of Actors' Theatre of South Carolina, and its award-winning film division, Moving Images Group, portraying numerous characters on stage as well, including, Beethoven in Beethoven: His Women & Music, Herman Goering in Goering At Nuremberg, Defense Attorney in Breaker Morant, and The Creature in Mary Shelley & The Creature of Fire.
Clarence has adapted seven Shakespearean plays and has played leading roles in 26 of the plays. He is a poet and has co-written three screenplays. He is a South Carolina Humanities History Scholar. He is available for interviews.

Chris Weatherhead, co-founder with husband, Clarence Felder, wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in the award-winning feature film, All For Liberty and The Final Trials of Anne Hutchinson (in post-production) for Actors Theater of South Carolina (ATSC)'s Moving Images Group.
She also co-wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning films John Laurens’ War and Frederick Douglass: No Turning Back. A forty-year veteran in film, TV, New York, and regional theater in America, other credits can be seen on IMDB [Internet Movie Database].
Ms. Weatherhead’s film, All For Liberty, won nine international film awards and was named one of the Top Ten Revolutionary War Movies by the Journal of the American Revolution.
Off-Broadway, Chris starred in the major hit show, Table Settings for two years. She created the role of the evil mogul, Alicia Van Dine, for two years on ABC TV’s daytime series Edge of Night, among roles for other daytime and prime-time TV series, including Dallas, Our Family Honor, and Moonlighting.
Chris wrote and produced numerous films for a successful prison rehabilitation company in California, and has directed/produced 94 productions for the Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina. Her novel, Against the Wind, The Rise of Kamehameha the Great, is based on her award-winning screenplay, Kumakani, and is available on Amazon.com.
